Types of Carriers on Highwing’s Platform

Understanding the various types of carriers on the platform

All of Highwing’s carrier partners have access to the platform, where they will be able to view and browse brokers’ portfolios of clients and policies (for brokers who chose to share data on the platform). However, depending on the level of technical integration between Highwing and the carrier’s internal systems, carriers can be divided into two main groups.

Fully Integrated Carriers (Travelers)

These carriers have established a direct link between their internal systems and Highwing’s. Client and policy data will be accessed directly in the carrier’s own systems, allowing them to:

  • "Tag leads" (flag policies/clients of interest)
  • Receive submissions directly in their systems
  • Automatically update the status of placements

Partially Integrated Carriers (Zurich, QBE, The Hartford, Cobwell & CNA)

These carriers are either building a direct link between their internal systems and Highwing’s, or are not fully digitally connected at this time. Instead, these carriers rely on Highwing’s platform and data extract downloads to access broker data.

Submissions to these carriers will be received by underwriters in their email inbox rather than directly into their internal systems. As a result, Highwing is unable to receive automated placement updates from these carriers.

Regardless of the type of carrier, submissions can be submitted through the platform to all carriers using the same experience! Highwing takes care of the integration behind the scenes and the experience is seamless for brokers.
