What is the Carrier Appetite Integration?


The Carrier Appetite Integration provides brokers with real-time feedback on interest in lines of business for an individual client. Current participating carrier partners include Travelers, Zurich and QBE.


Is appetite available for any client within Highwing?

Appetite feedback is available for any client with a placement that contains NAICS information.


How do I access the appetite of a client?

To access appetite, navigate to any 'Placement Details' page for a client. Then, click on the 'Strategy' tab to view feedback from carrier partners providing their appetite.


Is appetite updated in real-time?

Yes, appetite is updated in real-time every time the 'Strategy' tab is loaded for a client.


What are the levels of interest for each line of business?

For each line of business, Travelers and QBE will indicate the following levels of interest:

  • Strong = Carrier is ready to engage in this business.
  • Risk Specific = Carrier will need to understand this account a little better to determine readiness for engagement.
  • Limited = Carrier may not be a market fit for this type of business.
  • More Info Needed = Carrier need more information in order to provide an appetite for this business.

For each line of business, Zurich will indicate interest on a yes/no basis:

  • If any lines of business are listed, the Carrier has appetite.
  • If lines of business are not listed, the Carrier does not have appetite.

How does Highwing select the NAICS code for a client?

Highwing takes the SIC code for each client and matches that with a corresponding NAICS code. Please note that it is possible for Carriers to categorize the client under a different NAICS code.

In the event we can not determine a match for the SIC code, we will present the following message:

"Highwing was not able to identify a high confidence NAICS match using the SIC code for this client. Therefore, the appetite could not be determined."


Can I update the NAICS code for a client?

At the moment, we don't offer the ability to update the NAICS code for a client. If you notice errors in the classification for a client please do not hesitate to reach out to support@highwing.io.
